A PEAK INSIDE OUR OFFICE

Our office has a mobile Panda Warmer

The Panda Warmer helps us focus on caring for our newborns and little ones with care. It includes a hands-free alarm, a full-color display, integrated scale, heart rate and oxygen monitoring as well as other features.

These are usually found in hospitals and birthing centers. Gold Star Pediatrics is proud to lead the way in outpatient newborn care standards. We believe that having technology integrated into the office setting provides safer, faster and more reliable results. We want to make sure your baby stays safe, warm, and can be evaluated properly at their first newborn visit and all subsequent visits.

This safe and mobile station is perfect for simple procedures such as circumcisions and other in office procedures.

This Panda Warmer is no extra charge to our patients.

Our office has a Transcutaneous Bilirubin Meter for Jaundice

What is this?  This is a hand held small machine that measures your baby's jaundice level (TcB) easily, safely, and without taking any blood. It simply scans your baby's skin. It is reliable, effective, and easy to do. You may have seen this devise or a similar one if you delivered at a large hospital.

At Gold Star Pediatrics, we believe in investing and using state of the art technology to ensure patient safety. When you arrive with your newborn, their jaundice will be checked 3 times by scanning their skin, this is the leading gold standard in pediatric care. This is included into your newborn well visits.

Our office has a Biolase Laser for Tongue Tie Release

Our office is very unique because we have a in-house Biolase laser, which "harnesses the advantages of laser technology to make dental procedures far more comfortable for patients."

It is a small hand held laser we use to perform simple procedures, including tongue tie releases. This laser uses low-level laser energy and has two portable batteries, each lasting for an hour. Tongue Tie release usually take 5-10 minutes to perform.

At Gold Star Pediatrics we believe in using the best available technology to serve your child's pediatric needs. If we are in network with your insurance, we will bill your insurance for this procedure. If we are not in network, we require a simple fee of $199 for this procedure.

Our office has a pulmonary function test in office (spirometer)

What is a spirometer? "Spirometry is the most common type of pulmonary function or breathing test. This test measures how much air you can breathe in and out of your lungs, as well as how easily and fast you can the blow the air out of your lungs."

This is an in office machine we use to test patients with asthma, wheezing, cough, and other respiratory symptoms to measure the amount of air they can breeze in and out.

This machine can help understand a child's asthma, breezing issues, and ensure their airway opened up after a steroid treatment/ nebulizer treatment/ other medications given.

Our office has an EKG machine

What is an EKG?  "An ECG recording machine will usually show your heart rhythm and electrical activity as a graph displayed electronically or printed on paper."

It is safe, painless, easy to do, and it does not put anything or any electricity into your body. We have a 12 lead EKG available in the office. Your results will be read immediately and you can request a copy of your EKG results.

Having a lot of complex care children, it was important for us to be able to monitor their heart rhythm and electrical activity safely in the office, compare readings between different appointments, and ensure that patients have access to affordable care.
